hey, nooka: a Telegram bot that files your messages and voice notes into Notion

Thoughts and tasks arrive on the go, and opening Notion to fill in the right database takes too long. With hey, nooka you just write or speak to the bot: a dated task, a tagged note or a calendar event lands in your Notion by itself. Every user connects their own workspace in a couple of steps, without API keys.

Before

  • An idea comes on the road, and by the time you open Notion and find the right database it is gone.
  • Off-the-shelf integrations ask for API keys and make you reshape your workspace around them.
  • Language models mix up dates in everyday speech: “Friday afternoon”, “a week from now at the same time”.

What was built

AI classification

Every message is sorted into one of six types: task, note, calendar event, schedule question, “done” mark or reschedule.

Voice notes

Voice messages are transcribed and then handled as text. Longer thoughts become a note with a title and tags.

Dates by rules, not AI

Dates are parsed by a separate rules-based service for three languages; the language model only handles meaning. So “Friday at 3” never becomes Thursday.

Built for many users

Everyone connects their own Notion and Google Calendar via OAuth and picks the database with buttons in the bot. Users and settings live in Supabase.

More than an inbox

A “today” command shows the day’s plan, tasks are marked done or moved by text, Instagram reels become notes, and notes can go to Obsidian with end-to-end encryption.

Monetisation and analytics

Pro tiers are paid in Telegram Stars right in the bot. For me, a private dashboard: users, Pro conversion, messages per day.

Questions

Do I give the bot a Notion API key?

No. It connects via Notion OAuth, like official integrations, and the database is picked with buttons in the bot.

Is the bot free?

The core features are free; higher limits come with Pro tiers paid in Telegram Stars.

Can you build a bot like this for a team?

Yes — the same architecture works as a shared team inbox into Notion.
